**Update** We have just gotten word that the Flip Video donation program is now open to public libraries in the U.S. listed in the IMLS database as well as public libraries in Canada (in addition to 501 (c)(3) nonprofit libraries and organizations)!
We just launched an exciting new initiative called Donate Your Brain. It allows libraries, nonprofits, and other community organizations to quickly share technology knowledge.
We had an amazing webinar last week. I had a cold, so if you view/listen to the recording, you will notice a few seconds of silence now and then when I was blowing my nose. Sorry for that…one of the benefits of online training is that I didn’t give anyone my germs!
TechSoup is facilitating a free webinar this Thursday on evaluating digital literacy projects. Libraries have been offering technology training in some form for many years, but it is often still a struggle to figure out how to evaluate this type of service. Whether you received BTOP funding, state library funds, or local funding, it is necessary to be able to track and communicate the effects this important work has on our communities.
TechSoup has a lot of great webinars coming up in the next few weeks. Plus, they are all free! Learn about getting technology product donations for your library, winning grants, green IT opportunities, and evaluating digital literacy programs. More information and registrations links are on our events page.

With an overwhelming amount of information and technology to manage these days, there comes the point when organizations and small to medium size businesses should ask, when does it make sense to have an on-site server?
A new website, LISEvents, is aggregating listings of all types of library-related events, and helping connect speakers and event planners. Anyone is able to post events, and speakers and vendors can sign up for an account and create a profile to get speaking engagements or promote events. For a limited time, featured event placement for vendors is free if you register your company on the site.
