Chris Peters is a writer for TechSoup, the main writer of MaintainIT's Cookbooks, a librarian, a voracious reader, an impressive thinker, and a friend.
Some of you may have already heard the news of Chris Peters’ health, and for those of you who haven’t yet, it may come as a shock. Chris suffered a massive
stroke two weeks ago in his home and is now recovering in the hospital. Some of us at TechSoup have seen him more than once and are pleased to report that he’s recovering at an impressive rate. He is walking and talking and has so many ideas about articles, about projects, and about future presentations that I felt as though I should have brought a notebook to record them. Chris has several months of rehab in front of him and his doctors expect him to return to work at the end of the summer. I wanted those who care about him to know that he really is improving and doing well and he and his family are appreciative of the support so many of you have extended to him during this tough time. Thank you.
Chris' good friend Michael Porter wrote a caring post about his friend where you can learn more about Chris' impressive contributions to librarianship and to life: http://www.libraryman.com/blog/2009/05/30/get-well-soon-chris. Chris doesn't yet have access to the Internet, but I printed and gave him the comments he has received online which made him very happy. Thanks again.
